Deacon Akie Fubara had his BSc degree in Political Science & Administration from the University of Maiduguri, Nigeria and a Honorary Doctorate degree in Philosophy and Human Resource Administration from Tam-Light Christian University Nigeria, an Affiliate of Indiana Christian University, USA.
He has several years of experience in banking where he rose to the position of Zonal Head, Credit and Recoveries Department before leaving for private business, as an accomplished entrepreneur, in the public and oil & gas sectors where he executed several projects in civil and mechanical construction, environmental and waste management, manpower services, logistics support and as consultant to the Senate Committee on Oil & Gas. Deacon Akie Fubara also sits on the board of several successful private companies and belongs to some professional bodies.
Deacon Akie Fubara as a businessman has travelled wide attending several courses and international business conferences including the Chinese Business Forum, Beijing, Investors Trade Conference, York Pennsylvania, USA and as speaker at the Diaspora Support for the Nigerian Government, New York, USA.
As an astute politician, Deacon Fubara contested as aspirant for the Andoni/Opobo-Nkoro Federal Constituency in 2006, and has held several political positions including Member, Rivers State Transition Committee in 2007, Chairman, Rivers State PDP Campaign Organisation on Religion & Faith-based Organization, Campaign Coordinator for Opobo-Nkoro LGA in 2015 General Elections and Member, Inauguration Sub-Committee on Venue Management in 2015, before his present appointment as the Honourable Commissioner for Transport.
Deacon Akie Fubara as a philanthropist founded the Ibiwari Theodore Foundation, a Non-Profit Organization which has offered scholarships to several indigent students and executed construction projects in Opobo/Nkoro LGA and has received several awards of excellence from different organizations.
Deacon Fubara, is a seasoned leader in the Christ Embassy Church who is happily married with children.
